The Fire Chief is tasked with preparing fiscally responsible budgets, maintaining highly trained professionals ready to serve the community, leadership, strategic planning and oversight of the fire district. He ensures that the organization is prepared for an all hazards response to the community and surrounding areas. This is provided with the guidance from the Board of Fire Commissioners.

Fire Chief David Cambareri

Fire Chief David Cambareri began his fire service career in 1991 as a volunteer with the Plantation Fire Department. In 1994 he was hired with San Carlos Park Fire Protection and Rescue Service District as a Firefighter/EMT. In December of 2002 he was promoted to Lieutenant, a position he held until he joined the Command Staff as Assistant Chief in 2010.  Chief Cambareri began serving as the District’s Fire Chief in June of 2013. He is a certified Paramedic, Fire Inspector, holds a Bachelors degree in Public Safety Administration, is a Certified District Manager and Certified District Official with FASD, and is a graduate of the Emergency Services Leadership Institute. He served as a team member of Southwest Florida Urban Search and Rescue, (FL-TF-6), since 2001 and currently serves on their Board of Directors. Chief Cambareri currently serves on the Florida Association of Special Districts Board and is the President of the Lee County Fire Chief’s Association.
