The Battalion Chief is responsible for professional administrative and supervisory work involved in assisting the Assistant Fire Chief and Division Chief, direction and coordination of the assigned personnel, facilities and equipment. In addition, the Battalion Chief is responsible assisting in Department planning and programming; training programs; performing community and public relations activities; deploying personnel and equipment based on assessed need and departmental Responsibilities also include directing and participating in controlling and extinguishing fires to protect life and property, and assignment of specialized project or activity management, administration or supervision.
