The EMS Division Chief oversees the Emergency Medical Service Division. In addition to overseeing the division, the EMS Division Chief is also responsible for providing necessary medical training to personnel in the skills and maintenance of mandated and desired training areas. In addition to providing training and leadership, he is the District Safety Officer, oversees quality assurance and medical review of protocols for the District and county.
Division Chief Lucas Karth has served the San Carlos Park Fire Protection and Rescue Service District since 2016. Division Chief Karth is a Certified Firefighter, Instructor II, Fire Officer 1, Fire Inspector 1, Fire and Life Safety Educator, and Paramedic.
His accomplishments include being awarded two Unit Citations and the Above and Beyond Award. Division Chief Karth holds Associate of Science degrees in both Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and brings more than 15 years of experience in EMS to the Advanced Life Support aspect of service within San Carlos Fire Protection and Rescue Service District.
